Shealy's BBQ was founded by Roland and Betsy Shealy, who wanted to share their family's traditional BBQ with the world.   • Route: Start your journey on SC-302, heading southwest out of Columbia.
  • Ride Detail: This 45-mile route offers a peaceful ride with scenic views through small towns and past rural farms.
  • Highlight: Make sure to enjoy the winding paths and less-traveled roads as you near Batesburg-Leesville.
  • Final Stretch: Continue straight as SC-302 turns into W Columbia Ave, leading directly to Shealy’s BBQ.

This route is perfect for bikers who enjoy a relaxed ride through the countryside.

From Charleston, SC:

  • Route: Begin on US-78 W out of Charleston, transitioning to secondary roads as you approach Branchville.
  • Ride Detail: Switch to SC-4 W, riding through Orangeburg which is a great spot for a rest and some local flavors.
  • Scenic Stop: Post-Orangeburg, merge onto SC-39 N for a picturesque ride through quaint towns and fields.
  • Turn-off: In Salley, head west on SC-394 which will take you into Batesburg-Leesville.
  • Final Stretch: SC-394 turns into E Columbia Ave as you enter the town, leading you straight to Shealy’s BBQ.

This route offers a wonderful exploration of South Carolina’s backroads and small towns, perfect for a full-day trip.

From Greenville, SC:

  • Route: Exit Greenville on US-25 S and transition onto SC-39 in Edgefield.
  • Ride Detail: Travel south through historic towns and by striking natural landscapes.
  • Scenic Stop: Use Ridge Spring as a halfway point for a quick stretch and maybe some local pie.
  • Final Approach: Continue on SC-39 until you hit Batesburg-Leesville, then take a left onto E Columbia Ave to Shealy’s BBQ.
